The SAO audited the Prison Service for its management with state funds

The audit No 19/07 examined whether the Prison Service of the Czech Republic (hereinafter PS CR) managed state property and funds efficiently, economically, and in accordance with legal regulations. The SAO also focused on whether measures implemented in the penitentiary field contributed to cost-effectiveness.

1] The average employment rate of convicted persons is a ratio of the number of convicted persons working for remuneration to the total number of employable convicts. According to the methodology of the PS CR, prisoners included in educational and therapeutic programmes, who perform small jobs without remuneration, those incapable to work or those refusing to work and persons over 65 years of age, are not classified as employable convicts
